the misinterpretation
of a hotel room
(One, nobody, all)
Last August 2020 I decided to retire for three days in complete solitude in a hotel room trying to listen to my most inner voice. I thought about the freedom I could enjoy as a person and as a survivor of a pandemic. I thought about the women who had been forced to share their home with violent men during lockdown, women who can't enjoy the same freedom as me. Getting inspired by what I found in the room, I created a series of photographs. The result is a reflection on the female condition referred to stereotypes, to violence and self-boycotting and to the permanent sense of fighting that almost every women experimented at least once in a lifetime.
I have inserted texts to accompany the photos that have no didactic intent, they are just associations of ideas.
